Bio: I started out DJing back in 1981 with doing house parties. In the summer of 81’ I was an on air disc jockey for reed college (Portland, Ore) campus radio station, and at the time was the youngest person to hold a class C FCC Radio operators license. From there I got my self taught training as a master turntablist appealing to all types of audiences, in the 80’ mostly as resident DJ for such clubs as Catch 101, The Main Connection, The Plaza, Scootchies, and The Playground, as well as being a part of a radio show on KBOO radio called The Sound Connection, with the Sup (Tim Warren) and Spaz (Phil Bethune).
For a teen ager this was a busy schedule, as well as attending college. Then in the early 90’ made the transitioning from “teen clubs” to nightclubs, working for various clubs in the Portland metro area, including JT Barrangers, Brickstones, & New York Diner, as well as doing mobile DJ Shows for the nationwide company called Complete Music. I was the resident DJ for The Refectory in Portland, Ore. From 1994 to 1998, I took a break to go back to college to get a degree in computer science.
Then in 1999 went to work for a small bar called 8 balls of fire, in Portland. As well as doing many guest appearances, at clubs in Portland, Salem, Seattle, Vancouver BC, & Las Vegas. Then in 2000, went to work for a lounge called Genghis Khan, in Vancouver, WA. Which later on I was one of the designers in converting this establishment into “Club GK’s” GK’s Sportsbar & Grill. Was the Head DJ & Promotions director for GK’s from 2000 to 2004, working closely with Jammin 95.5 FM (www.Jamminfm.com) doing various live acts at the venue as well as mix show, Venus Swimwear & Miss Hawaiian Tropic Competitions.
Then, in July of 2004 I made a drastic change of scenery, moving from Portland, Ore to Daytona Beach, FL. Just 3 weeks before hurricane charley. Going to work for a company called the International Autosound Challenge Association (IASCA) as the IT Administrator, since 2004, I have been working doing varies fill-in gigs here in central Florida, including The Groove Nightclub, in Universal Studios in Orlando. Was the first in Portland, Ore to mix CD’s back in 1992 with the Denon DN2000 Dual CD Player. Now I use Pioneer CDJ 1000’s & CDJ 400’s(www.pioneerprodj.com) with Rane Serato Scratch(www.rane.com).
